This DIY Wall Art Uses Leftover Wood Scraps + Only Takes 2 Days to Make

Sep 15, 2023Sep 15, 2023

Self-proclaimed "weekend warrior" Sam Raimondi shows us a true, two-day home project. The DIY’er (who renovated her entire house while working full-time as a psychologist) teaches Rach how to make wall art that uses leftover scraps of wood and only takes a weekend to complete.

Sam says you can use any type of backer board such as MDF or plywood found at your local home improvement store.

All you do is cut 1x2s into 90 and 45 degree angles by using a miter saw, and then sand everything down. To create the design of your choice, attach the pieces to a melamine board using wood glue and use a nail gun to pin everything down. Let it dry overnight.

The next day, trim any overhang with a circular saw and then add prime and spray paint. Once the paint dries, attach the frame, and you’re done!

"Not bad for a weekend project, right?" Sam says.
